how do I prepare

Your MyKappa Checklist

Log in to the Kappa website and be sure your email is up to date so we can reach you. Please use a personal email that is not a passed-down, role-specific email. (Databases do not like shared emails!)
Start your checklist. It includes information on what’s coming, what you can expect, and a plan to help you prepare.
Be ready by June 18. Much of our system, including KeyReports, will enter a freeze period starting June 18 through launch the week of July 20.

How should we plan for the transition to MyKappa?

We encourage House Boards to take the following steps:
– Utilize the House Board transition checklist to keep up with the transition, plan ahead, and be prepared for freeze periods.
– Let your House Board officers know a transition is coming and encourage them to update/confirm their contact information before June 18.

Are trainings planned for MyKappa?

Yes! Training will be provided to House Boards at launch. Kappa plans to offer a variety of options, including live webinars, prerecorded trainings, step-by-step guides, an in-portal support hub, and support from the Kappa Headquarters staff.

Who will have access to MyKappa?

All members will have access to MyKappa. Each member’s view and functionality will be customized to their membership status, leadership role, etc.

Will all the functionalities in KeyReports be available in MyKappa at launch?

We’re starting with core, essential functionality, such as updating your profile, references, member and leadership rosters, and member status updates. Once the foundation is in place, we’ll continue adding new capabilities and enhanced experiences, building over time based on readiness, feedback, and what will add the most value. This phased approach supports a smoother transition for everyone.

Should I download past reports from KeyReports ahead of the freeze period?

Yes. With the phased approach, it is possible past reports and documents may not be available immediately at or following launch. Download any reports or documents you may need to reference for your role.

What features will be available for House Boards?

We’re excited that MyKappa will feature several new and exciting property management solutions, largely supported by Housing Department staff at Kappa Headquarters. In early fall, chapter members will be able to review and sign house contracts directly in MyKappa. Chapters and House Boards will also be able to review and sign the chapter lease agreement directly in MyKappa.

We will continue to add more features as part of our phased approach, including a maintenance request feature.

Where should we put annual meeting minutes or updated documents if our meeting is during the freeze period?

Please save these documents in your personal files and share annual meeting minutes and updated documents directly with your Facilities Specialist until these features are added to MyKappa during Kappa’s phased approach.
