Members of the Omega Society commit to supporting the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation with a planned gift. Across generations, their reasons for leaving Kappa in their wills are inspired by their Kappa experience and ensuring others have the opportunity of sisterhood.

doing for others
For Joanie Cohen, Colorado, Kappa has always been about action. Guided by Leonardo da Vinci’s words, “Being willing is not enough; we must do,” Joanie has carried that spirit through decades of service, friendship, and leadership.
From her earliest days as a pledge trainer to her most memorable role as Fraternity Extension Chair, Joanie has found joy in building teams, opening doors for new members, and forming friendships that have lasted a lifetime.
Including Kappa in her estate plans was a natural extension of that commitment. “Reading scholarship applications and seeing the urgent need for financial support inspires me every day,” Joanie says. “We must do.”
Through her Omega Society membership, Joanie ensures future generations of Kappas will experience the same sisterhood, leadership, and opportunities that shaped her life.
a heart for the future
Kappa Kappa Gamma has been a cornerstone experience for Emily Gamauf, Akron, since the day she found a home at Lambda Chapter in 2012. “Almost everything in my life has been touched by Kappa: my dearest friendships, my leadership opportunities, even my career,” she shares.

Giving back to Kappa has always felt natural to Emily. To her, the Kappa Foundation represents the true meaning of lifelong membership: supporting women not just during their collegiate years but at every stage of life. That belief inspired Emily to include Kappa in her estate plans, ensuring future sisters have the same opportunities to learn, lead, and thrive.
“Knowing I can help move Kappa’s future forward, even when I’m no longer here, is a beautiful gift,” Emily says. Through her Omega Society membership, Emily is living out her values — dreaming boldly for Kappa’s future while giving generously today.
