Memories are made on summer nights, enjoying a cookout and surrounded by friends. Host Alison Barr Beitzel, Indiana, aka Babs, is empowering women to master the grill — from appetizers to dessert. WHAT TO EXPECT
This is the ultimate beginner-friendly grilling demo designed to help you master the gas grill with confidence. Babs will share tips and tricks for successful grilling and will teach us how to grill an entire meal:
- Grilled shrimp and veggies with burrata salad
- Grilled chicken, steak, and potatoes
- Grilled dessert
No experience? No problem! Babs says by the end of the class, you’ll be flipping, searing, and serving like a pro. Because great barbecue isn’t just for the guys — it’s for everyone.
MEET OUR HOST
After a successful 25-year corporate career, Babs followed her passion for entertaining and founded Babs Boards in 2021. She has taught over 200 Girls Who Grill and charcuterie classes, inspiring women to step up to the grill with confidence.
Babs has been a guest chef at The Weber Grill Cooking School, was the only female competitor in Ace Hardware’s Wings Competition, grills with Weber Grills at Abt, and regularly appears on Chicago morning TV, showcasing grilling and entertaining tips. Last April, she made her QVC debut with Char Crust, bringing her grilling expertise to a national audience.
Babs’ mission isn’t about being the best pit master — it’s about making grilling approachable, fun, and accessible for everyone.
