An important part of Convention is conducting the business of the Fraternity, which includes reviewing and voting on our documents, installing the newly elected members of Fraternity Council and District Directors, and planning for the future of Kappa. While voting delegates have the privilege of making motions, debating, and voting, Convention is open to all members of the Fraternity. 

Picture it with us: Strolling together by refreshing Kappa-blue waters, connecting under vast, sunny skies by day, and gathering under glittering stars each night. Convention is the perfect setting for celebrating the beauty of a sisterhood rooted in friendship, loyalty, and shared memories. In Kappaland, we reconnect and create new relationships with friends from near and far, we nurture our well-being, and we are inspired to expand the horizons of our dreams. Every view is stunning and every moment is cherished because we’re spending it with those who mean so much to us.

We’re kicking off Convention in style and with a crowd favorite: the Parade of Flags. Chapter delegates proudly unveil their chapter flag (which has been securely stored at Kappa Headquarters) in front of the cheering crowd of Kappas during this longstanding tradition on Thursday night. This year, we encourage everyone to dress in the Convention color palette. Think: lavender, gold, and of course, blue and blue.

The 2024 Loyalty Award recipient will be announced during Friday morning’s Opening Business Meeting. Established in 1956, the Loyalty Award is considered the highest honor bestowed upon a member and recognizes years of devoted service and commitment to Kappa’s mission and values. The recipient is kept a secret until Open Business Meeting, but we can tell you now that this year’s award winner represents all that is fine in life, thought, and character.

The Alumnae Achievement Award is the highest honor for personal and professional achievement that Kappa presents to its members at every Convention. You can experience our beautiful ritual at the Model Initiation Ceremony conducted by the Fraternity ritual and history team or you can find a moment for self-care by participating in one of the three mental health and well-being activities we’ll be hosting. Think: planting a succulent to bring home, creating your own essential oil blend, or putting totes together to promote mental health and well-being in the community.
