The Rose McGill Impact
The Rose McGill Fund originated with a plea for help at the 1922 Convention to provide for a young Kappa, Rose McGill, Toronto, who was ill and in need of support. Over the years, grants from the fund have provided financial assistance to Kappas experiencing a need.

Emily's Story

Emily sounds bubbly. It’s no surprise she was the recruitment chair for her chapter when she was in college. But being bubbly and upbeat has not negated the mental health challenges she’s faced after graduating. Almost a decade later and through much self-work, Emily has learned to recognize when stress and anxiety start to build tension in her body: Her shoulders feel like they’re by her ears. Her chest feels tight. For Emily, these physical manifestations may mean a more serious mental health episode is looming.

For Carla Tenney Applegate, Miami (Ohio), Kappa has always been for a lifetime. And in February 2021, that meant Carla was determined to attend her granddaughter’s initiation into Kappa Kappa Gamma. And the pandemic wouldn’t stop her. The Baylor chapter of Kappa Kappa Gamma was holding a virtual initiation ceremony, but Carla decided to make a short road trip from her home to be with her granddaughter for the occasion. That is, until the weather took a turn for the worse.
