how do I prepare

Your MyKappa Checklist

Log in to the Kappa website to make sure your Kappa email is listed on your profile. This ensures we can reach you with news of everything to come.
Start your checklist. It includes information on what’s coming, what you can expect, and a plan to help you prepare.
Review the resources for the groups you support. Alumnae associations, chapters and Advisory Boards, and House Boards are all receiving specific communications and have webpages to help prepare them for the transition.
Be ready by June 18. Much of our system, including KeyReports, will enter a freeze period starting June 18 through launch the week of July 20.

General Questions

How should we plan for the transition to MyKappa?

– Use the Fraternity volunteer transition checklist to keep up with the transition, plan ahead, and prepare for freeze periods.
– Connect with those you serve to offer support during the transition and encourage them to utilize Kappa’s resources for the transition. Be sure to check out their personalized resources, too!

Are trainings planned for MyKappa?

Yes! Training will be provided to Fraternity volunteers at launch. Kappa plans to offer a variety of options, including live webinars, prerecorded trainings, step-by-step guides, an in-portal support hub, and support from the Kappa Headquarters staff.

Who will have access to MyKappa?

All members will have access to MyKappa. Each member’s view and functionality will be customized based on membership status, leadership role, etc.

Will all the functionalities in KeyReports be available in MyKappa at launch?

We’re starting with core, essential functionality such as updating your profile, references, alumnae association and chapter websites, membership and leadership rosters, and member status updates. Once the foundation is in place, we’ll continue adding new capabilities and enhanced experiences, building over time based on readiness, feedback, and what will add the most value. This phased approach supports a smoother transition for everyone.

Should I download rosters from KeyReports ahead of the freeze period?

You will be able to access a copy of the membership and leadership rosters in KeyReports during the freeze period. We recommend downloading copies of the leadership rosters to have on hand as well.

Will Minerva and OmegaRecruit still be available?

Yes! Minerva will continue to be Kappa’s learning management system and OmegaRecruit will continue to be Kappa’s membership selection software. You will be able to access these resources in MyKappa.

Form Specific Questions

Should I download past reports from KeyReports ahead of the freeze period?

Yes. With the phased approach, it’s possible past reports and documents may not be available immediately at or following launch. Download any reports or documents you may need to reference for your role.

I work with chapters planning events with alcohol. Will chapters be able to submit Event Planning Forms during this transition?

EPFs will be available in KeyReports until a temporary freeze in July (TBA) right before MyKappa launches. Following the launch, all EPFs submitted in the past six years will be accessible in MyKappa and will be submitted and approved there going forward.

If chapters know about events in August or early September that require an EPF, they should submit one as early as possible to avoid issues during the temporary freeze.

Will chapters have access to references for potential new members during the transition?

References will be available in KeyReports until a temporary freeze in July (TBA) right before MyKappa launches. Following the launch, all references submitted in the past year and going forward will be accessible in MyKappa.
