The future is female — and the future is Kappa. Women’s History Month is a great time to focus on the critical importance of gender representation. Last year, women accounted for the majority of college students in the U.S. and Canada. While the gender gap in education is shrinking, women still must join forces, fight for a seat at the table and champion gender equality. As Tade Hartsuff Kuhns, Butler, said: We must “remember it can be done, but it will take work.”
Our “Herstory”
What better way to recognize Women’s History Month than to lift up some of our amazing, bold members who have impacted Kappa’s rich history and made their mark on the world around them. Explore Kappa’s Digital Archives to discover members who have made history — like Lucy Webb Hayes, Ohio Wesleyan, the first 1st Lady to have earned a college degree, or Julia Ward Howe, Boston, abolitionist and author of “The Battle Hymn of the Republic,” or Mareta West, Oklahoma, who mapped the landing on the moon.
