Kappa Kappa Gamma Elects New Officers

DUBLIN, Ohio (July 28, 2022) — Kappa Kappa Gamma is pleased to announce the 2022–24 Fraternity Council, District Directors, Content Directors and committee chairs. These dedicated volunteers bring years of experience and a variety of knowledge to their roles. Together, they will set the course for the Fraternity over the next two years.

During the Fraternity’s 74th Biennial Convention, voting delegates elected Fraternity Council and District Directors. Fraternity Council’s first order of business was to appoint Content Directors and committee chairs to oversee specific content areas and portfolios.

Leading Fraternity Council is President Mary Pat Rooney, Drake, who is dedicated to fulfilling Kappa’s mission and providing opportunities to all members.

FRATERNITY COUNCIL

Fraternity President: Mary Pat Rooney, Drake

Mary Pat is serving her first term as Fraternity President. She has previously served the organization in a variety of roles, including Fraternity Vice President (2018–22), Academic Excellence Director (2015–18), Kappa Education Trainer (2010–present) and member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation Board of Trustees. She believes that Kappa’s impact on its members and their communities is limitless. Professionally, Mary Pat is the associate vice president, development at United Way of Metro Chicago and facilitates donor investment in the foundational and strategic neighborhood-based work of the organization and its partners. She lives in Chicago, loves to read, and enjoys exploring the city with her golden retriever, Stanley.

Fraternity Vice Presidents: 

Maria Brown, Valparaiso

Maria is serving her second term as a Vice President and her first as a member of the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation Board of Trustees. Maria credits her experience at Leadership Academy as launching her volunteer career with Kappa. She has served in a number of roles related to education and programming, including as the 2018–20 Programming Director, overseeing 14 Content Specialists assisting chapters and associations with member curricula. She lives in Columbus, Ohio, with her husband, William, and works in financial services as a digital product manager.

Nancy Campbell, Florida State

Nancy is entering her first term on Fraternity Council. She has a broad view of the Fraternity’s organizational structure, operations and infrastructure. She previously served as a Province Director of Alumnae, Alumna Relations Specialist and Facilities Specialist. Nancy has a passion for rugby and is the president of the True South Rugby Union. Nancy works in management information systems and lives in Cookeville, Tennessee.

Barb Goettelman, Syracuse

Barb brings a wealth of nonprofit and volunteer experience to her role as Vice President. Additionally, she will represent Fraternity Council on the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation Board of Trustees. Barb previously served as District Director and Advisory Board Director. At Kappa’s 74th Biennial Convention, Barb received the Loyalty Award, the Fraternity’s highest honor bestowed on a volunteer who has made a lasting impact on the organization. When she is not volunteering with Kappa, Barb is active with PEO International, Daughters of the American Revolution and National Charity League Inc. Barb resides in Englewood, Colorado, with her husband, Scott.

Liz Wong, Waterloo

Liz, who is a self-described leadership enthusiast and lifelong learner, is entering her first term on Fraternity Council. She has served in numerous Kappa roles and, in the last biennium, she led the Alpha District team as District Director, overseeing chapters and associations in parts of Canada and the Northeast United States. She lives in Toronto and enjoys spending time outdoors. Liz works at a renewable energy company and oversees operations and partnerships.

Fraternity Treasurer: Kyle Donnelly, UC Riverside

Kyle has volunteered with Kappa for nearly two decades, working closely with chapters in Southern California. In the last biennium, she was the chairman of the House Board Committee and a member of the Finance Committee. Kyle has been “speaking finance” for almost 40 years. With a strong background in accounting, she works closely with her clients to offer comprehensive accounting services. Kyle lives in Falls Church, Virginia.

Returning as ex officio and nonvoting members of Fraternity Council are Beth Black, Illinois Wesleyan, National Panhellenic Delegate, and Kari Kittrell Poole, Executive Director.
