TRAVEL READY TIPS

Don’t forget to bring your REAL ID-compliant ID or passport to the airport if you’re traveling internationally.

SCHEDULING FYI

Leadership Academy is a weekend jam-packed with outdoor activities, indoor brainstorming sessions, and time to connect with sisters. Attendees will travel on Thursday, Sept. 25, so they arrive for things to kick off bright and early Friday, Sept. 26. After spending the weekend in Kappaland, we’ll all pack our bags and head home on Sunday, Sept. 28.

Any scheduling conflicts, including concerns about missing work or school, should be addressed before flights are booked.

Each participant must attend Leadership Academy in its entirety. Arriving late or departing early is not permitted. Participants may cancel before July 14 with no penalties or fees.

KAPPAS FLYING TO CAMP

Your flight to Tennessee will be booked through Direct Travel during the registration process. Once your flights have been reserved, Direct Travel will send a copy of your itinerary via email. Please do not make your reservations through Travelocity, Expedia or any other outside source. If you do, you will not be reimbursed for your travel.

Each Leadership Academy participant is responsible for arranging transportation to the airport. Chapters are expected to cover the cost of airport parking, a rideshare service, train, etc., for their participant.

All cancellations must occur before July 14. If you cancel after the deadline, you will be responsible for any costs associated with travel and/or participant fees. Airline tickets are nontransferable and nonrefundable.

KAPPAS ROAD TRIPPING TO CAMP

Chapters within 275 miles of Camp Widjiwagan in Antioch, Tennessee, will drive to Leadership Academy.

Check out the list of chapters expected to drive here. Pro tip: Connect with other Kappa chapters and alumnae associations nearby to road trip together. Reach out to the chapter Presidents, alumnae association Presidents and advisers.

Don’t forget the essentials: yummy snacks, a playlist, and excitement for the weekend ahead!

Please note: While Kappa can’t reimburse members for gas, you can turn in the requisition form after the event to be reimbursed for mileage.

ARRIVING ON TIME

Plan to arrive between 2–4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 25. If you need more flexibility with travel time, participants may arrive at Camp Widjiwagan until 10 p.m. We’ll be checking in with anyone driving to know when to expect you.
