The landscape of higher education is constantly changing and it can be hard to keep up. We’re here to help you navigate the changes.
Join us for a virtual panel discussion on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at 8 p.m. ET to learn about current higher education trends and how you can best support our collegians. We’ll be joined by student affairs and higher education professionals Susan Pile, Miami (Ohio); Kate Roessler, Illinois Wesleyan; and Taberie Van Boening, Kansas State.

Get to Know the Panelists
susan pile
Susan Pile, Miami (Ohio), serves as the senior director of university unions and auxiliary services in student life at the University of Michigan. Since joining the university’s team in 2004, Susan has held numerous leadership positions, including Michigan union director and the first director of the center for campus involvement. Susan received her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Miami University and has two master’s degrees: one in elementary education from Indiana University and another in higher education administration from the University of Illinois. Susan is a longtime volunteer for Kappa and currently serves as the Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Committee Chairman and a trustee of the Fraternity Housing Corporation.
kate roessler
Kate Roessler, Illinois Wesleyan, is the director of planning and assessment for student affairs at the University of Louisville. As a Kappa volunteer, Kate serves as the Chief Panhellenic Officer and a Kappa Education Trainer. Kate has nine years of experience in higher education and previously worked as a fraternity/sorority adviser.
taberie van boening
Taberie Van Beoning, Kansas State, currently works for Alpha Omicron Pi Fraternity in the collegiate experience department. Through her involvement with Kappa, Taberie developed a deeper appreciation for the sorority experience. It inspired her to pursue a master’s in postsecondary education: student affairs at the University of Northern Iowa. Taberie has experience working as a fraternity/sorority adviser and collaborating with student leaders, chapter advisers, headquarters staff/volunteers, and campus partners. Taberie currently serves Kappa as a Courage to Commit facilitator and the Alpha District Panhellenic Specialist.
