University of Alabama Recruitment
(Sept. 20, 2013) - Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity is aware of the issues surrounding Membership Recruitment at the University of Alabama. Fraternity leadership has been in close communication with our chapter at the University of Alabama, Gamma Pi, to ensure our members are following all university and Fraternity policies and procedures.
Membership selection requires thoughtful consideration and full participation in all facets of the membership recruitment program. Active members have the responsibility for selecting members of their choice. Gamma Pi Chapter members, both undergraduate and alumna, have shared with Fraternity representatives their confidence and belief in the chapter's own internal process and that proper procedures were followed throughout formal Recruitment. While all information concerning Kappa Recruitment and membership selection is confidential, Kappa Kappa Gamma continues to seek members who will further the mission and purpose of the Fraternity.
Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity values diversity and does not discriminate based on race, national origin, religion, disability, age, or other class protected by state, local or federal law. Kappa members, undergraduates and alumnae, are encouraged to promote and demonstrate an understanding of diversity, both on the college campus and in the world community. As the video from the president of the University of Alabama states, the university and its Greek system are moving forward with a program to facilitate full integration, and Kappa Kappa Gamma will be a partner in that effort.
