Kappa Celebrates a Quarter of a Million Members
Kappa Kappa Gamma, one of the largest fraternities for women, reached a membership milestone over the weekend when 30 chapters conducted initiation, bringing the total number of initiated members to more than 250,000!
“Having just celebrated our 142nd anniversary in October, Kappa is proud to surpass a quarter of a million initiated members since our founding in 1870,” says Julie Marine Leshay, Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity President. “We take great pride in providing an environment for women to discover their passion, develop their dreams and realize their potential. We look forward to initiating many more members.”
In honor of this milestone, Kappa Kappa Gamma is releasing a video reminding everyone what Kappa Is. From moving in for the first time, to experiencing pure joy and even sorrow with sisters, the video strives to awaken those timeless memories. The video can be viewed by visiting Kappa’s YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/kappakappagamma.
“Kappa’s goal is to help each member aspire to be everything she dreams of,” Leshay added. “I’m thankful for the opportunity to lead this organization of incredibly talented and caring women, a quarter of a million strong.”
