  Meet the Team

The Position

Leadership Consultants are employees of the Fraternity. They provide advice, support and resources to chapters and advisers, and they serve as a link to the Fraternity as a whole. They make visits to chapters across the United States and Canada to provide guidance about leadership development, Membership Recruitment, organization, management, and more. Leadership Consultants also have the opportunity to support our extension efforts and may be based on a campus to work with one of our newest chapters.

For 2019–20, the Leadership Consultant schedule will be:

June 9–15:         Leadership Consultant Remote Orientation 
June 18–20:         Training at Kappa Kappa Gamma Headquarters
June 20–23:         Associate Council Seminar in Columbus, Ohio
June 24–July 13:         Conference Calls and Remote Training
July 14–17:         Fraternity Executives Association Field Staff Conference
July 17–25:         Training School
Aug. 1–Nov. 23:         Chapter visits and establishment work
Nov. 24–30:         One week vacation
Dec. 1–7:         Chapter visits
Dec. 8–Jan. 1:         Work from home (i.e., conference calls, visit reports and visit preparation)
Jan. 2–April 23:         Chapter visits and establishment work
April 23–26:         Wrap-up meeting at Kappa Kappa Gamma Headquarters

Leadership Consultants are expected to maintain a commitment to:

  • The highest personal standards.
  • A professional image in person and online.
  • The best interests of the Fraternity.
  • The Kappa Kappa Gamma Fraternity Bylaws, Standing Rules and Policies.
  • All Fraternity resources.
  • Attend Training School, follow-up meetings, year-end meetings, webinars, conference calls, and other meetings or conferences as requested.

The Compensation

As employees of the Fraternity, Leadership Consultants are paid in accordance with our standard payroll procedures.

From June 18–23, Leadership Consultants will work up to 10 hours per day and will be paid $14.27 per hour minus applicable federal, state and local taxes. 

During June 24 through July 14 — the time between the Associate Council Seminar and Training School — Leadership Consultants will work a total of 15 hours per week and will be paid at a rate of $14.27 per hour minus applicable federal, state and local taxes.

The Leadership Consultants’ full-time salary will begin July 14, the start of Training School. The expected pay will be $535 per week minus applicable federal, state and local taxes. Leadership Consultants will be paid biweekly and in accordance with our standard payroll procedures.

In addition to salary, Leadership Consultants are provided:

  • Travel expenses to and from chapters.
  • Room and board by the chapters.
  • Cellphone reimbursement of $30 per month.
  • A laptop by the Fraternity.

Being a Leadership Consultant is an incredible opportunity to create lifelong bonds of friendship, cultivate a multitude of professional skills, travel the country, and experience new cities and states each week. Leadership Consultants are also eligible for benefits beyond compensation.

These include:  

  • Vacation and sick leave: Leadership Consultants are eligible for one week (five working days) of vacation (assigned) and 10 working days of sick leave at the rate of one day per month — available after 60 days of full-time employment. 
  • Health, dental and vision insurance: Kappa Kappa Gamma currently covers up to 80 percent of the employee’s health insurance premium and 100 percent of life, short-term and long-term disability insurance. Health benefits are effective July 14, the first day of the Leadership Consultant's full-time employment.
  • Ability to apply for a graduate scholarship from the Kappa Kappa Gamma Foundation.
